2014 Rinconada Pinot Noir
After skipping the 2013 vintage, we return to Sanford & Benedict’s western neighbor, Rinconada. Planted in 1997, Rinconada joins Sanford & Benedict as our only other north-facing vineyard site. The northerly exposition moderates ripening, allowing for extended time on the vine.
The 2014 Rinconada offers a focused nose with savory components at the forefront. Dark fruits, red licorice, and ripe raspberries float along the wine’s lifted aromatics. The wine already demonstrates tremendous concentration through the mid-palate and the trademark savoriness on the nose carries through to a persistent finish.
